Recreation

Our large park is adjacent to the Public Safety Department and boasts two first-class playgrounds: one for ages toddler to six and the other for ages 7-12. There are baseball, softball and football fields, a tennis/pickleball court and sand volleyball court. If planning a family gathering, church social or any type of get-together, check out our facilities: pavilions with picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis - no rental fee required. The 10,000 square foot GG Hardin Center houses a regulation basketball court and concession stand. Rental for the GG is available starting at $70 an hour with a minimum of 3 hours.

The Black Warrior river, which runs north to south through Tuscaloosa County near Brookwood, provides many opportunities for recreation. Outdoorsmen and -women can enjoy picnicking, fishing, boating, swimming or just watching the river flow by at Rocky Branch Park or Bankhead Park. While not on the river, Tannehill Historical State Park is close by. If you prefer hunting deer or turkey, hunting clubs are available for membership.

Burchfield Branch Park, Rocky Branch Park, Eagle Cove Marina, Hide Away Harbor and the Black Warrior River serve as perfect locations for lovers of fishing, boating, or being on the water.
